Boys hoops rankings: Whitefield takes over top spot

In Class AAAAAA, North Gwinnett slides to No. 9 after a 59-48 loss to Norcross and Douglas County suffered a 56-53 loss to Newnan and dropped to No. 10. Miller Grove moves to No. 2 in Class AAAAA after its 70-60 win over previous No. 2 Tucker. Also in Class AAAAA, Jenkins fell from to No. 9 after an 80-73 loss to Ware County and 15-2 Warner Robins debuts at No. 8 in the poll. All of the ranked teams in Class AAAA won this past week and the poll stays the same.

In Class AAA, St. Pius X lost 37-36 to Cedar Grove and 43-38 to Blessed Trinity. The Golden Lions dropped to No. 6 and Blessed Trinity moved from No. 9 to No. 5 in the poll. Cedar Grove debuts at No. 10.

No.1 Greater Atlanta Christian and No. 2 Vidalia remain unbeaten and lead Class AA. Taylor County and Pelham re-enter the Class AA poll at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. Pelham topped Early County, Brooks County and Cairo this week and 11-5 Taylor County has won six straight games.

In Class A, previous No. 3 St. Francis topped previous No. 1 North Cobb Christian 60-59 on Tuesday. Whitefield Academy takes over No. 1 and St. Francis moves up to No. 2 in the poll ahead of North Cobb Christian. Earlier in the season, Whitefield Academy beat St. Francis 65-51.
