Prothro, Bowdons 6-foot-6, 210-pound freakish three-sport athlete, has had a pretty good high school career so far. Hes a stud on the football field, he can hoop and has the ability to throw a baseball pretty fast.

On the football field, the un-guardable for-star tight end does not know what it means to NOT win a state championship.

Under head football coach Richard Fendley Jr, Prothro who has offers from Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi, Florida State and Miami to name a few has helped lead the Red Devils to championships in the past three seasons. Hes rated as the No. 2 2026 tight end in the nation and the No. 3 overall recruit in the state for his class.

Bowdon beat Brooks County 34-14 in the Class A Division II championship game in December, marking the teams third-consecutive title. As a junior, Prothro had 56 catches for 1,203 yards and 22 touchdowns with three catches for 92 yards and a score in the championship game.

As a freshman in 2022, Prothro caught 10 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns. Bowdon defeated Schley County 39-31 in the Class A Division II title game that season. During his sophomore campaign, Prothro caught 33 passes for 831 yards and 13 touchdowns with the season culminating in Bowdons 28-27 victory against Manchester in the Class A Division II championship game.

The Bowdon basketball team is 5-5 but is coming off a 63-33 victory against Greenville Tuesday to move to 1-0 in Regin 7-Division II. The teams losses were to higher classed in-state teams Class 5A South Paulding 80-56, Class 4A Cartersville 76-73, Class 4A Cedartown 66-61 and Class A Division I No. 5 Temple 68-53 with a loss to Alabamas Hokes Bluff 68-59. Prothro leads a group of four players who are scoring in double-figures and is averaging a team-leading 21 points per game with a state-leading 17 rebounds per game.

Behind Prothro, sophomore Timothy Johnson adds 13 points, freshman Zayland Allen is scoring 12 points per game and junior Alex Ortiz adds 10 points per game. Bowdon will play at home against Atlanta International Wednesday and will travel to Elite Scholars Friday.
