Per sources, the Camden County head football coaching search is finally over as former Appling County head coach Tucker Pruitt will be named the next head coach of the Wildcats.
Pruitt has had an illustrious head coaching career in Georgia high school football as he spent eight seasons at Fitzgerald, compiling a 82-27 record leading the Purple Hurricane to two region championships and a state title in 2021.
Following his eight seasons with the Purple Hurricane, Pruitt accepted the head coaching position at Appling County where he led the Pirates to a region title and a second round appearance this season.
Pruitt is taking over for Camden County former head coach Travis Roland who coached the Wildcats for two seasons compiling an 13-8 record with the school.
The Wildcats thought they had their man when they hired Jon Lindsey last month but Lindsey stepped down from the position on December 30th, due to ‘unforeseen’ and personal reasons.
Pruitt will look to lead the Wildcats to a postseason appearance for the first time since 2024, looking to make it out of the first round for the first time since they made the semifinals under Jeff Herron a year prior.
