The Third-Annual Corky Kell & Dave Hunter Basketball Classic is bringing another lineup of strong early-season matchups as the West Forsyth Wolverines girls basketball team will be taking on the North Paulding Lady Wolfpack.

The West Forsyth Wolverines have been averaging 58 points per game and allowing an average of 44 throughout this season. Their defense stands strong and has helped fuel their team's success so far only seven games into the young season. West Forsyth can speed up opponents with the ability to turn its stops into quick points. Controlling the tempo in games like these allows the Wolverines to play their game, which only builds their confidence on the court. Playing against North Paulding, the Wolverines will have their hands full as going up against the Lady Wolfpack will be one of their toughest tests of the season so far.

North Paulding is a team that plays to its strengths well on the court, and plays well slowly and surely. The Lady Wolfpack are 8-1 on the season through their first nine games this season, with their only loss coming at the hands of Holy Innocents’, 72-60, last month. North Paulding has been on a roll as of late, winning five-straight games since their loss to Holy Innocents’, including victories over Sandy Creek, Newton, New Smyrna Beach, Walton and Cherokee before their games this weekend. The Lady Wolfpack are coming off an impressive season a year ago where they finished 26-3 overall as well as 12-0 in Region 5-6A.

While both programs aren’t finished products this early in the season, this will be a great opportunity for both teams as it will serve as an early test on both programs schedules.
