GHSA Executive Committee set to approve 2026-28 GHSA Region Alignments Wednesday

The GHSA Executive Committee will meet this Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the Thomaston-Upson County Civic Center to approve the 2026-28 GHSA Region alignments. This meeting is the final installment of the Reclassification Committee’s approval process. In November, the GHSA held a pair of meetings with the Nov. 10 session hearing appeals for classification reassignments and the Nov. 17 session hearing requests for Lateral Transfer from one region to another within a classification.

Wednesday’s agenda was posted by the GHSA and will begin with classification appeals from Lakeside-DeKalb, Bryan County and Discovery in addition to an isolation appeal by Cook. Following those appeals, the Executive Committee will motion to ratify the classifications before discussing the region structure guidance and public/private split for Class 2A-4A. PSR Calculations with non-member schools and a discussion on proposed officiating game fees will also be included in the agenda before the session is adjourned.
