GHSA Reclassification Committee meeting scheduled for Monday morning

Schools from around the state will meet at the GHSA offices in Thomaston Monday morning to begin the appeals process of the latest classification proposal that will rearrange classes for the 2026-28 seasons.

The meeting will hear proposed Class 7A schools at 9:45 a.m., 6A schools at 10:45 a.m., 5A schools at 11:15 a.m., 4A schools at 12:30 p.m., 3A schools at 1 p.m. and 2A schools at 1:30 p.m.

There are 14 programs scheduled in the Class 7A time slot, the most for one classification in the meeting ahead of Class 5A (11 schools). Notable programs making appeals are Douglas County (7A), Northgate (7A), Kennesaw Mountain (7A), Thomas County Central (6A), Creekside (6A), Richmond Academy (5A), Jenkins (5A) LaGrange (5A), Douglass-Atlanta (5A), Savannah Christian (3A) and North Cobb Christian (3A).
