The GHSA Reclassification committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday at the GHSA offices in Thomaston.

The discussion will be based on the reclassification model for the 2026-2028 cycle including private school classifications in Class 2A-4A to be maintained for state playoffs. The elimination of Class A-Division I/II and the return to the standard A-7A structure will be considered.

The playoff ranking system will be addressed for classes that use the 1-32 power rankings system. Also, region championship placement will be discussed, with consideration that if a region champion is ranked outside the top 16 teams, thus missing the playoffs despite winning a region, that team will be moved to the 16th-ranked spot.

Another issue are schools who are performing at a lower quality in their classes and which could be moved down to be more competitive.
