The Spalding and Wayne County girls' basketball teams have been disqualified from the GHSA state basketball tournament. Both teams were ejected from Tuesday's first-round match following a brawl between the two teams with 3:46 left in the second quarter.

The cause of the fight is still unknown. The GHSA has yet to comment on the incident but should be making a ruling on penalties in the near future. The double ejection is the first in the long history of the GHSA. Starrs Mill, who defeated Westover in the first round 66-34, will have a bye in the second round and will automatically advance to the quarterfinals.
