In Class 6A, defending state champion Wheeler leads a talented top 10 at No. 1 and is led by reigning classification player of the year Colben Landrew—a UConn commit and spearhead of the Wildcats’ impressive roster of future collegiate talent. No. 2 Grayson will have a much-different lineup from last year’s semifinalist run, but head coach Geoffrey Pierce is excited for the same gritty and talented brand of basketball to pursue another state title.

The Class 5A poll is led by defending state champion Tri-Cities and the Bulldogs’ Region 4 rival Woodward Academy debuts at No. 2. Two-time defending state champion North Oconee headlines the Class 4A poll at No. 1 ahead of Pace Academy. In Class 3A, Cross Creek opens the year at No. 1 ahead of Cedar Grove and Sandy Creek.

In Class 2A, Carver-Columbus debuts at No. 1 ahead of Columbia. Class A Div. I is headlined by Putnam County and the Class A Div. II poll is led by championship-hopeful Manchester. In Class A-3A Private, Holy Innocents’ leads a deep classification and is coming off its first-ever state title.
