Remaining GHSA softball playoff series decided by Game 3's Wednesday in Classes 6A, 4A, 2A and Division II

There were 11 decisive Game 3s Wednesday evening to determine the last seeds of Classes 6A, 4A, 2A and A Division II which will head to Columbus for the Elite Eight of the GHSA State Fast Pitch Softball Playoffs from Oct. 30-Nov. 2.

In the states highest class (6A), North Gwinnett outlasted Harrison 11-5 to punch a ticket to the southwestern part of the state. The Bulldogs have two titles 2016 and 2021. Brookwood defeated Grovetown 2-0 to earn a return trip to Columbus in the hunt for the programs first title.

There were five Game 3s in Class 4A and Wayne County will be trying for a program first title in Columbus after beating East Forsyth 11-5 in the third game of the second-round series. St. Pius X defeated Union Grove 13-12 and is alive for the teams second championship but first since 1995. Central-Carroll moved past Allatoona to earn a chance at the teams third championship after titles in 2016 and 2021. Ola upended Marist 7-6 to punch the ticket to Columbus where it will try for its second title and first since 2013. Harris County defeated Cambridge 11-0 and wants its second title and first since 2000.

In Class 2A, Morgan County beat Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and has a shot at its fourth title but first since 2005, when it won three of four championships from 2002-05. Stephens County upended Columbus 13-0 to stay alive for a shot at its first championship.

In Class A Division II, two first-time champions could emerge from the Game 3s Wednesday. Screven County beat Crawford County 3-0 and Clinch County outlasted Miller County 7-6 to advance to the Elite Eight.
