In Class 6A, No. 1 ranked Grayson picked up a 60-59 win over Archer and then a 46-38 victory over McEachern at the Grayson New Years Classic and did so without junior star Caleb Holtwho was out with the flu. After the narrow victory over the Region 4 rival Archer Tigers, Grayson showcased a championship defensive triumph in its eight-point win over McEachern. No. 2 Wheeler scored a 67-53 win over Greenforest Christian and was led by a 31-point barrage by Mansur McClainwho drilled seven three-pointers to fuel his game-high output. McEachern moved up to No. 4 this week as Walton slid to No. 5 and Lambert jumped to No. 7 after a 13-2 start.

In Class 5A, Winder-Barrow rose to No. 5 with a 60-45 win over Seckinger at the Sandy Spiel Shootout and sent the Jaguars out of the poll after dropping their record to 8-6. New Manchester replaced Seckinger at No. 10 following a thrilling 77-76 win over Class 2A No. 1 ranked Carver-Columbus in the Lemon Street Classic. Lee County dropped to No. 8 from its previous spot at No. 4 after following 64-55 to Peachtree Ridge and dropping to 9-4.

Class 4A saw North Oconee move up to No. 2 after a 69-67 win over Buford and former No. 2 ranked Kell dropped to No. 3 after falling 53-51 to Cobb rival Sprayberry. In Class 3A, Dougherty slipped out of the poll after a 60-58 loss to Monroe and was replaced at No. 10 by Windsor Forest. Morgan County topped Westside-Macon 54-50 to earn the No. 8 spot in Class 2A and make its debut in the poll. Vidalia replaced Towers in Class A Div. I at No. 9 after its 11-4 start and Towers 72-47 loss to Class 2A No. 2 ranked Columbia. Class A-3A Private No. 10 ranked Kings Ridge has a huge week ahead with a matchup at Walker on Tuesday, Jan. 6 and a trip to No. 9 ranked Paideia on Friday.
