In an interesting twist, the No. 2 team in the boys Class AAAAAA rankings, Lassiter, has not lost since March. However, due to the fact that the Trojans only two losses this year came to No. 1 Milton and No. 7 Walton, Lassiter enters the AAAAAA playoffs as a No. 3 seed and must travel to No. 3 North Gwinnett in the first round. No. 4 Centennial dropped down to No. 4 after two losses in the Knights last three games. Centennial enters the playoffs as the No. 1 seed out of Area 3. No. 5 Chattahoochee finally saw its winning streak snapped with a loss to Walton, but the Cougars enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed out of Area 3. Harrison enters the poll at No. 9 after finishing off an undefeated Area 1 schedule.

In Class A-AAAAA, No. 1 Decatur, No. 2 Westminster and No. 3 Northview all enter the 16-team tournament as No. 1 seeds while former No. 3 Allatoona fell to No. 8 in the rankings and a No. 2 seed after recent losses to Westminster and Harrison. No. 5 Lovett is the fourth No. 1 seed. In perhaps the best matchup of the first round, No. 4 Blessed Trinity faces No. 6 Whitfield Academy.

The only changes in the girls Class AAAAAA poll were Alpharetta sliding in at No. 10, taking Etowahs spot and Kennesaw Mountain and Chattahoochee trading spots at No. 6 and 7, respectively.

Finally, No. 6 Woodward Academy inched past Starrs Mill while No. 8 Marist moved up from No. 10 past No. 9 St. Pius X. Blessed Trinity takes the No. 10 spot, bouncing Columbus from the poll.
