The Milton boys lacrosse team has won two GHSA titles in the last three seasons but sometimes gets overshadowed by the girls program, which has won seven titles since 2005. Currently, the Milton boys sit at No. 3 in the Score AAAAAA lacrosse rankings and last night, Tom Dells squad took care of Pope 13-2 to improve to 12-3. Milton has not lost to a Georgia opponent all season and began the year 10-0 with wins over Lassiter, Lambert, Walton and Roswell. With three remaining games on the schedule before the playoffs start, Dells squad will be one to watch in the postseason.

Sonic and Score were on hand before yesterdays game to recognize Nick Newell as the Sonic High School Player of the Week. Dell noted that Newell was an easy choice for player of the week after scoring seven goals over the last two games, a 14-12 win over North Carolina power Lake Norman and a narrow overtime loss to Tennessee powerhouse McCallie.

Congratulations to Nick. Sonic is a proud supporter of Georgia high school sports and will be on hand at Alpharetta this Monday to recognize the baseball team.
