Armuchee High School has found the schools next head football coach as the Indians have appointed Aaron Avery to run the football program.

Avery most-recently coached at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, FL and was the teams offensive coordinator as well as the quarterbacks coach.

In his time in the program, Avery saw success in the form of back-to-back regional championships as well as a trip to the semi-finals in 2022 and 2023.

As a player, Avery attended Nease High School where he was teammates with Florida Gators-great and 2007 Heisman Trophy-winner, Tim Tebow.

Avery has had a wealth of coaching experience throughout his coaching career, coaching at multiple high schools around the state of Florida such as Oakleaf High School as well as Ponte Vedra High School.

The former offensive coordinator is known for his high-powered offense as his units have been some of the top-scoring offenses in the state since he began coaching.

Avery has had the honor of coaching some great players throughout his career including 2016 Florida Mr. Football Award-winners, Ponte Vedra quarterback, Nick Tronti. Tronti committed to Indiana before transferring to Florida Atlantic.

In Averys offense, Tronti threw for 7,443 yards and 68 touchdowns during his career. In his Mr. Football-winning season during his senior year, Tronti threw for 3,328 yards to go along with 34 touchdowns in 14 games while also running for 650 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground.

Last year, with Avery as the offensive coordinator the Bulldogs finished with a 10-2 record, scoring a total of 425 points on their way to the postseason. The Bulldogs were eliminated in the Class 2A regional finals to eventual runner-up Gadsden County, 21-9.

Going into the 2025 season, Avery will attempt to right the ship as he is taking over a program that hasnt won more than five games or made the postseason since 2009.
