The Atlanta Falcons, in partnership with the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, are expanding their commitment to high school football across Georgia through two exciting new initiatives aimed at fostering growth and enhancing safety. These programs reflect the organizations ongoing dedication to building stronger, more inclusive football communities throughout the state.

THE GROWTH OF FLAG FOOTBALL

For schools that did not have a program in 2024, the grant will provide $10,000 to help establish one for the 2025 season. Schools that already have a girls flag football program can apply for a $5,000 grant to support and enhance their efforts.

This initiative was developed to kick off more opportunities for girls to get in the game. With flag football gaining yardage across the country, Georgia is geared up to become a leader in participation, scoring big for female athletes statewide.

MAKING TACKLE FOOTBALL A SAFER SPACE

Tackle football programs can apply for grants to receive up to 50 Guardian Caps per school. The program aims to increase the safety of student-athletes as the caps are designed to reduce the impact of repetitive head collisions while playing the game, thus reducing the risk of concussions and other head related injuries.

With concussion awareness and player health at the forefront of discussions surrounding youth football, this program provides schools with the resources they need to prioritize player well-being while continuing to foster the development of young athletes.

HOW TO APPLY

The Atlanta Falcons, Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and GHSA encourage all schools to apply for these grants. Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is March 14th, 2025. You can apply for a grant here. These grants offer game-changing opportunities for Georgia high schools to enhance their football programs, boosting both inclusivity and safety to ensure every player has the chance to fall in love with the game in a secure and supportive environment.
