Brunswick football receives punishment from GHSA following Friday-night brawl with Gainesville

Following last Friday night’s brawl between Brunswick and Gainesville in their second-round matchup, the GHSA has handed down punishment to the Pirates. For Brunswick’s involvement in the fight that led to the game being called near the end of the third quarter, the Pirates have had 41 players suspended in addition to receiving a one-year playoff ban and a $5,000 fine.
For the 41 suspended players, their respective suspensions will be upheld during the start of the 2026 season, per GHSA rules.
