Philip Jones will take over the offensive line and assistant head coaching job at Jackson County after serving a 10-year stint as the head coach at Brookwood.

Jones led the Broncos to the quarterfinals in 2021 and the semifinals in 2017. He had previously coached at Banks County, leading the Leopards to a 7-4 record and the first round of the playoffs in 2011.

Brookwood missed the playoffs in 2023, the first time since 2015, Jones first year at the helm. Last season, the Broncos finished 7-4 and lost in the first round.

Jones joins a Jackson County program that is trying to find its way under head coach Korey Mobbs, who is entering his third season at Jackson County.

The team has only advanced to the playoffs six times 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2021 and last season under Mobbs. But theyve yet to advance past that round. The Panthers 8-3 record last season was tied with the best in the history of the program alongside an 8-2-1 finish in 1992 under head coach Don Golden.

Jones, undoubtedly, has the desire to help improve upon that record.
