Lee County Dean Fabrizio was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol in the early hours of September 28 for driving under the influence and was placed on administrative leave from his coaching duties to address his personal problems.

The Class 5A No. 10-ranked Trojans had fallen 35-21 against Thomas County Central the previous Friday. With the problems addressed, and progress made, Fabrizio will again lead the team onto the field Friday against Veterans at home.

Fabrizio, who has coached at Lee County since 2009, led the Trojans to back-to-back state championships in 2017 and 2017 and led the team to the semifinals last season. After the arrest, John Flath took over for the team’s 35-14 victory against Coffee on Oct. 3 to move the Trojans to 1-1 in Region 2-6A play.
