One of the premiere runners in the state, Marist senior Tommy Latham, will not be participating in the GHSA Track & Field State Championships beginning this Friday.

This comes after the senior UNC-commit performed an obscene gesture while running in the track & field regionals in the anchor leg of the 800-meter relay. Latham's gesture disqualified him from the competition as all of Marists wins on the day were forfeited.

Latham competed in both the 1,600-meter and the 800-meter before both of his victories in the events were nullified along with him being disqualified in the 3,200-meter according to Keepgoingrun.com.

Lathams name was recently in the news for becoming the first Georgia high schooler to break the four-minute mile, running an astonishing time of 3:59:79.
