Camden County, Cass, Rockmart and Social Circle defend titles while Jefferson resurges at GHSA Team Duals Championships

Camden County, Cass, Rockmart and Social Circle successfully defended last seasons GHSA Team Duals Wrestling championship as the season ended at six locations around the state Saturday.

Camden County has owned the event since 2015, winning each season and its victory against Buford in the Class 6A championship match marked the programs 22nd overall wrestling title.Against Buford in its 43-26 victory, Camden was led in victories by Ryder Wilder (215 pounds), Bradley Patterson (113), Isaac Santos (120), Cane Smolarsky (126), Hunter Prosen (138), Waylon Rozier (150), Brock Weaver (165) and Brian Wright (175).

In Class 5A, Creekview beat Glynn Academy 37-33 to secure the teams second-overall title and first since 2020. The Grizzlies had seven wrestlers victorious championship bouts Aaron Campbell (150), Weston Wilkie (165), Domenic Velardez (190), Jackson Locke (215), Cole Warren (120), Ty Warren (126) and Brock Salas (132).

Cass upended Woodland-Cartersville 38-30 in the Class 4A championship bout to secure the programs sixth overall wrestling and third team duals title. Against Woodland, Kirecg Roe (190), John Abernathy (285), Hayden Trimm (106), Gavin Walker (113), Hunter Barrett (120), Luka Jensen (132), Aidan Pratt (144) and David Jewell led the Colonels.

The resurgence of Jefferson and its victory against Troup County in the Class 3A championship match marked the programs 45th overall championship and 21st team duals title. IN the Dragons 55-15 victory against Troup, Jefferson got victories from Kaden Gammon (113), Barrett Clayton (120), Roma Belardo (132), Cruz Hezel (138), Dominic Haines (144), Dallas Russell (157), Fischer West (175), Cap Benson (190), Clifford Williford (215) and Reese Ferm (285).

Rockmart has won 16 overall wrestling titles and its narrow 38-38 victory against Lovett was decided by a tie-breaking forfeit, giving Rockmart its fourth overall and fourth-straight team duals title. Luke Clay (165), Jake Gravitt (215), Colton Chappell (285), Eli Bowman (106), Tripp Clay (138), Kennith Fiers (144) and Hagen Sharp (150) led Rockmart past Lovett.

Social Circle won its 14th overall wrestling and seventh team duals championship after moving past Toombs County 51-18 in the title bout. Social Circle was led by Nick Morrell (285), Gable Hargrove (106), Cohen Hargrove (120), James Sievers (132), Curtis Duren (138), Levi Wall (150), Dane Kracht (165), Levi Kendall (190) and Dillion Evans (215) in the championship victory.
