Four leagues have been decided, four more will determine their playoff pecking order in the final week of the regular season.

Regions 1, 4, 5 and 6 have already been decided -- Carver-Columbus is the Region 1 champion, Thomson is the Region 4 champion, Carver-Atlanta is the Region 5 champion and Columbia is the Region 6 champion.

While in Region 3, Appling County will face Pierce County. If Appling wins, they are the region champions.

If Pierce wins against Appling, then the Cook Crisp County game will help decide the region. If Crisp wins, it will send the region to the tie breakers; if they lose, Pierce County will be the region champion.

In Region 8, Hebron Christian and Prince Avenue Christian will play for the region title, which will have no effect on the 2A playoffs. The seeding of any non-region champions will be impossible to know until Sunday morning when the playoff rankings will be released.

Morgan County and Callaway will face off Friday for the Region 2 championship. The Bulldogs and Cavaliers are meeting for the region title for the second straight year. Last season’s clash was a 33-26 dogfight that Callaway won. The Cavaliers have dominated region play over the past four seasons, winning 24 straight region games dating back to 2021. Morgan County has been a consistent force over the last three years, going 21-4 during that span and reaching the quarterfinals last year. For the second consecutive season, the Bulldogs enter the matchup 9-0. They rely heavily on their explosive offense, which has averaged 49.3 points per game this year. Callaway, on the other hand, boasts a dominating defense that has recorded three shutouts in its last seven games and allowed just 5.5 points per game.

In Region 7, North Murray and Rockmart will meet in Rockmart for the region crown. Rockmart has owned the series, winning all nine meetings. The Yellow Jackets have claimed eight straight region titles dating back to 2017. However, North Murray is no stranger to success. The Mountaineers have made the playoffs every season since Coach Poag took over in 2016 and won a Region title in 2019. Their 9-0 start marks the best in school history and already ranks as the second-most wins in a single season. Rockmart, meanwhile, has won seven straight since its Week 2 loss to 4A power Cartersville. This game will be a Top-10 matchup, and whichever team wins will earn its first victory over a ranked opponent this season. The only other ranked team has faced was Rockmart’s loss to Cartersville.
