Johnson-Gainesvilles boys won the programs fourth while the Oconee County girls secured the programs third-straight soccer title as the GHSA soccer season ended last week.

Johnson secured the championship with a 1-0 victory against Northwest Whitfield while the Oconee County girls beat Jefferson 1-0 to win the programs third title.

Johnson previously won titles in 2018, 2022 and 2023. Oconee County had not previously won a championship before its first in 2023.

On the baseball diamond, Troup County (30-8) will play Cherokee Bluff (25-11) Tuesday at AdventHealth Stadium in Rome at 5 p.m. for a double-header, best-of-three series with a possible if game scheduled Wednesday at Noon.

Two-time Class 3A baseball defending champion Harlem lost to Pickens in the quarterfinals and a first-time champion will emerge from Troup or Cherokee Bluff.

The Class 3A boys and girls golf programs will end the season at Highland Country Club Monday and Tuesday. Legendary golf course designer Donald Ross is credited with designing the first nine holes at Highland.

On the boys side of the golf championship, West Laurens enters as the top-ranked team with Cherokee Bluff, North Hall, LaGrange, Calhoun, Richmond Academy, Southeast Bulloch, Northwest Whitfield, Jefferson and Harlem in the top 10.

For the girls, Jefferson is the top-ranked team ahead of Northwest Whitfield, White County, North Hall, Southeast Bulloch, LaFayette, Adairsville, Cherokee Bluff, Calhoun and Heritage-Catoosa as the top 10 programs.
