Region 3 (McEachern) and Region 7 (North Gwinnett) are the only two regions in Class 6A that have crowned this year’s champions, but all but three playoff spots have been secured heading into the Week 12 slate. In Region 1, Lowndes, Valdosta, Colquitt County and Richmond Hill have secured the four playoff spots, but the seeding is yet to be determined. The two teams outside of the playoffs are Camden County and Tift County and they will conclude their seasons Friday night at Tift County. Both Camden County and Tift County have been swept by the four playoff teams this season. Lowndes has an opportunity to win its first region title since 2021 and complete a perfect regular season at Valdosta in the 64th edition of the Winnersville Classic. Colquitt County will be travelling to Richmond Hill for the other matchup that will impact the standings. Lowndes will win the No. 1 seed with a victory. If Valdosta wins, it would force a three-way tie if Colquitt County also wins and Richmond Hill would get the No. 4 seed. If Richmond Hill defeats Colquitt County and Valdosta defeats Lowndes then it would be Valdosta No. 1, Lowndes No. 2, Richmond Hill No. 3 and Colquitt County No. 4. If Richmond Hill defeats Colquitt County and Lowndes defeats Valdosta it would be Lowndes No. 1, Colquitt County No. 2, Valdosta No. 3 and Richmond Hill No. 4. Region 1 will be paired with Region 8 in the first round so we will examine Region 8 next.

In Region 8, the winner of Buford and Mill Creek will get the No. 1 seed and the loser will get the No. 2 seed. Collins Hill has already secured the No. 3 seed. The No. 4 seed will go to the winner of Central Gwinnett at Dacula.

The Region 2 title will be determined Friday night when Carrollton hosts Douglas County and the loser of that matchup will earn the No. 2 seed. East Coweta moved into third place last week by defeating Westlake 28-27. Now, East Coweta will take on Chapel Hill. A Chapel Hill victory over East Coweta would create a three-way tie between East Coweta, Westlake and Chapel Hill at 1-3 in region play. An East Coweta victory would give the Indians the No. 3 seed and Westlake would be the No. 4 seed.

Region 6 will meet Region 2 in the first round and there is still much up in the air heading into this week. West Forsyth can clinch the region title with a win over Alpharetta this week and the other big game is North Atlanta at Denmark.

McEachern clinched the Region 3 No. 1 seed last week and will look to complete a perfect 10-0 season at Osborne on Friday. Harrison needs to defeat Paulding County to secure the No. 2 seed and Hillgrove will need to handle business against South Cobb to capture the No. 3 seed. Paulding County, Hillgrove, Harrison and McEachern are all guaranteed playoff spots. Region 3 will meet Region 5 in the first round and that will set up a rematch between Walton and McEachern in the first round. McEachern won 50-17 Week 1 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Walton fell to the No. 4 seed in Region 5 last week with its 34-22 loss to North Paulding to close out the year with a 5-5 overall record and 3-3 region mark. Marietta (5-0), North Paulding (4-1) and North Cobb (4-1) are all in the running for the top 3 seeds. North Cobb has a win over North Paulding, but a loss to Marietta on its record. North Paulding can force a three-way tie with a win over Marietta and a North Cobb win over Wheeler.

In Region 4, Grayson, Archer, Newton and South Gwinnett have secured the four playoff spots. Newton and South Gwinnett will faceoff and then Grayson will travel to Archer. Archer’s lone region loss came to Newton and Newton’s region loss came to Grayson. South Gwinnett already lost to Archer and Grayson and would have to defeat Newton to ascend from the No. 4 seed. Region 7 will take on Region 4 in the first round and North Gwinnet has already clinched the No. 1 seed. Peachtree Ridge has losses to Brookwood and North Gwinnett on its resume, but the Lions defeated Norcross and own the tie-breaker over the Blue Devils. As a result, a Brookwood win over Norcross would move Peachtree Ridge up to the No. 3 seed. If Norcross defeats Brookwood and Peachtree Ridge can beat Peachtree Ridge, then there would be a three-way tie at 5-2.
