The postseason began last week with physical games as teams and players were fighting to advance in the postseason, not wanting their seasons to end. Now, entering the second round, the various paths to the championship game will become a bit clearer.

A game to watch this week is Fitzgerald (8-3,5-1) meeting Dublin (9-2,8-1). Both these teams are programs that play well in playoffs and their defenses are some of the best in the bracket. When looking at the games played this regular season with Dublin, they have all been high scoring games with 35 and more points scored on their opponents and they have only allowed at least 10.

Fitzgerald head coach Wesley Tankersley, has been coaching since summer of 2025 for the Purple Hurricane. He coached at Stephens County for seven seasons before coming to Fitzgerald.

Coach Tankersley has been preparing the team since the start of this regular season, getting them ready to keep playing on into the postseason.

In the first round, Jasper County came in as a lower seed and took the win over Gordon Central (44-13) and will face off against Pepperell in the second round.

Social Circle won a closely contested game against Haralson County as the Redskins have made it to the second round for the first time since 2022. They will be moving on into the quarterfinals to play Heard County.
