Greene County High School football coach Darius Terrell Robison has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple battery, according to investigators. The Greensboro Police Department requested the GBI assist with their investigation on Tuesday and on Thursday the GBI said his arrest game after allegedly choking and hitting several of his players.

“The safety and well-being of our students remains our first and highest priority,” Superintendent Aaryn Schmuhl said in a news release. “Upon receiving the allegation of misconduct, the administrative team at GCHS took immediate action to investigate and address the concerns to fully cooperate with law enforcement and appreciate their swift response to our request for their support.”

On Thursday night the Greene County school district spokesperson said Robinson was relieved of coaching duties and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal review and the ongoing criminal investigation.

Greene County finished the 2025 season 2-9 after falling in the first round of the state playoffs to Early County.
