The final week of the regular season started early with five games Thursday night. Region 1 champion Early County wrapped up its slate with a tough 32-9 loss to Alabama’s Eufaula. The Bobcats will play the No. 4 seed out of Region 8 in the first round and that will be Greene County. The Tigers close out their season tonight against Lincoln County—which has already wrapped up the region title. Lincoln County’s opponent in the first round will depend on the result of Randolph-Clay’s home game versus Miller County. The winner of that matchup will earn the No. 4 seed. In Region 1, the No. 2 and No. 3 seed will go to the winner and loser of Friday’s Seminole County at Mitchell County game. Region 8 has the same scenario with the matchup between Washington-Wilkes and host Warren County as the winner will earn the No. 2 seed behind Lincoln County and the loser will be the No. 3 seed.

Region 2 and Region 6 will be paired up in the first round of the state playoffs and Region 2 has already been crowned to Clinch County. On Friday, the No. 2 ranked Panthers will travel to Lanier County with a chance to finish its first undefeated regular season since its 2018 title. Brooks County is the No. 2 seed out of Region 2 and the No. 3 and 4 seed will come down to the results in Charlton County, Lanier County and Turner County’s games. Region 6 is still in play, but Taylor County has a chance to earn the title tonight at home against Macon County. Schley County is 5-1 and split a three-way tie of the title with a Macon County win over Taylor County.

Region 3 has a true region championship battle tonight with Screven County (9-0, 7-0) at ECI (7-2, 7-2). Region 5 will come down to whether or not Johnson County can defeat Georgia Military Prep tonight and complete a perfect regular season state.

Region 4’s Wheeler County joins Clinch County, Screven County, Johnson County and Lincoln County as Class A Div. II’s five remaining undefeated teams and the Bulldogs can clinch the region title tonight against Treutlen. If the Vikings win, however, then Treutlen will be the region champs. Region 4 will play Region 7 in the first round and that region has already been secured by the Bowdon Red Devils—who demolished Trion 63-0 Thursday night to run away with the title. The remaining seeds will be determined by the result of Manchester’s home game versus Greenville.
