There were plenty of changes in the Score Atlanta Football Rankings this week following intriguing results from the ninth week of the season. Some teams stayed steady, some fell and some shot up the rankings. Thomasville (5-3,2-2) who was ranked #2 in our week rankings fell off the rankings completely after a loss to Fitzgerald (4-3,2-1), 21-24. Rabun County fell from No. 3 to No. 10 after a loss to Oglethorpe County, 28-19. The number one spot is still Worth County, who have remained at the top spot. It played Berrien last week and won, 54-16. The Rams go on to face Bacon County at home this week in a Region 1-DI matchup.

The Heard County Braves have been locked in so far this season and have remained undefeated through seven games. They beat Darlington last Friday 41-20, and beat them in their 2024 region champion season 48-27. They will be playing Bremen this Friday for a powerful game. The Bremen Blue Devils (4-3,2-1) coached by Davis Russell is a Region 6-DI team who will be hosting the Heard County Braves this Friday. Both of these teams have stayed motivated throughout the long season.

Coach Shane Lasseter has coached Heard County to a 7-0 season thus far, the team has won three region games and are seeking their first 8-0 start to the season since 2012.

The Bremen Devils (4-3,2-1) coached by Davis Russell who is in his 10th season are a Region 6 team who will be hosting the undefeated Heard County Braves this Friday.

Keeping the team focused and motivated on the game is the goal every day for the team.

“That’s always a challenge, we try to give them some time off, we are playing very well, we have a mute group with big goals, we are trying to work on ourselves a lot. The game this time of year the most important thing is the kids need to have the want to keep playing, we have to make sure the kids are happy to be here and working hard” Lasseter said.

Northeast (5-2,5-1) fell 14-13 to Bleckley County last week in a one-point heartbreaker game, they went up one on the Week 9 rankings compared to last week. Bleckley advanced all the way from 10th in Week 8 to fifth in Week 9. This close game helped both these teams at the end, with both going up the rankings.

Northeast will be hosting Central-Macon this Friday for a Region 2 matchup. In their 2024 season the Raiders won 39-0 and are hoping to gain another win in their 2025 season.

Toombs County (6-1,1-0) won two weeks ago over Swainsboro 47-20 in Week 6. They are back this week and will be hosting Savannah Country Day (2-5,0-2) for a Region 3 game.
