Prince Avenue Christian enters the 2025 season as one, if not the, outright favorite to win the Class A-3A Private state championship. The Wolverines will now fully turn to junior 4-star quarterback Ben Musser as the team’s full-time starter.

Musser is one of the most gifted quarterbacks in the country in the class of 2027. His mixture of passing ability and high-end athleticism gives him the tools to take advantage of opposing defenses focused on stopping the passing game.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Musser has more than enough size to play the position, especially with his ability to run the ball. He will need to grow in his ability to run the offense. He had some outstanding performances last season, including huge games in the Corky Kell Classic and the state championship, but also had to split time with Jake Bobo due to inconsistent play. He will need to take a step forward in going through his progressions. At times, even in those big games, he would get locked onto a receiver and force the ball to them. If he can clean that up and manage the game more effectively, he has the potential to lead them to their fourth state championship in the past six seasons.

Musser is a highly recruited quarterback and recently received his fourth star from the Rivals Industry Ranking. He already has 13 offers, including from the likes of Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and Vanderbilt. He has been receiving offers since before last season, and more will definitely come. He has the skill set of the modern college quarterback, good size, strong arm talent, and mobility.

As a team, the Wolverines will be led by new head coach Jon Richt. However, he is the team’s longtime offensive coordinator, which provides continuity. They will kick off the season in the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic against Callaway. They’ll play one of the toughest schedules in the state, with games against three teams that made the quarterfinals or better, not including South Carolina 4A state finalist Westside.
