Two years ago at the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter 7-on-7 a sophomore at Cherokee Bluff showed out. A graduate assistant from Georgia Tech and I were both amazed by Dylan Haley. Over the past two weeks, his recruitment has exploded.

Haley, a 6-foot-2 wide receiver, has had an amazing season so far in 2025. On offense, he has 370 yards receiving with three touchdowns, while on defense he has 20 tackles and an interception.

He is a smooth athlete with sky-high potential. On defense, he is extremely physical, sticky in coverage and able to use his speed to close quickly. He translates more as a safety on that side of the ball. While he is playing a lot of cornerback, he does get caught watching the quarterback at times. On the offensive side, where he’ll likely project best, he is a smooth route runner with the speed to take any pass to the house. He needs to work on his breaks, as he has a habit of rounding the tops of his routes. However, he has sky-high potential and will be a quick riser in the class of 2027.

Last week, Haley received his first offer from UNC-Charlotte. Since then, he has gotten two more offers, one from Gardner-Webb and another SEC offer from Ole Miss. Other teams, such as Georgia and Virginia Tech, have shown interest and have hosted Haley for game-day visits this season. As of now, he may already be the best recruit to come out of Cherokee Bluff. His competition includes Shad Dabney, who was a three-star defensive back recruit, and Mateo Guevara, who was a three-star offensive lineman.

Overall, he is one of the most underrated players in Class 3A and will be a name to know moving forward. Since he is already receiving SEC offers before the end of his junior season, he has nowhere to go but up.
