The recruitment of DJ Huggins has exploded in recent weeks. Harrison’s leading receiver has picked up offers from Clemson, Liberty, Boise State, and Eastern Washington in the past two weeks. They join FAU, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Memphis, and UNLV as programs with offers in on Huggins.

Huggins is just the second receiver in the 2027 class to receive an offer from Clemson. Historically, Clemson only extends offers to players they really want. This offer was the first power-4 offer for Huggins.

Huggins has also visited schools such as Tennessee and Penn State. While Huggins is unranked as a recruit, elite speed, consistent on-field production, and an ever-growing offer sheet are sure to change that.

Huggins has 1,007 receiving yards this season, averaging over 100 yards per game to go along with 14 total touchdowns. He has led his team to a record of 9-1 (6-1), placing second in region 3-6A. Harrison’s lone loss came against McEachern. Despite the loss, this was a breakout game for Huggins and provided a spark in his recruitment. Huggins had seven catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns against a McEachern defense with 2028 five-star safety Casey Barner.

Huggins is an alumnus of the Georgia Elite Classic, playing in the event in 2023 and 2024. Harrison takes on Marietta this Friday in the first round of the playoffs as Huggins looks to position himself as one of Georgia’s must-watch playmakers in the 2027 class.
