Evan Narvaez pacing No. 7 Islands boys soccer, Kamryn Simmons leading No. 4 Harlem girls

Islands boys soccer program is ranked No. 7 in Class 3A and senior Evan Narvaez is a big reason why.

Hes tallied 62 points, 23 goals and 16 assists to lead the team and the classification. He scored a season-high four goals in a 10-0 victory against Beach on Feb. 25 and scored four goals in a 10-0 victory against Liberty County on March 11.

The Sharks at 11-3 and 9-0 in region play while riding a 9-game winning streak going into Thursdays match against Class 1A-3A Private No. 3 Savannah Country Day. Islands opened the season with a 5-1 victory against Statesboro and an 11-1 victory against Savannah Chrisitan.

The Sharks lost three-straight contests to Class 6A No. 4 Lambert 1-0 on Feb. 14, Class 5A No. 1 River Ridge 2-0 on Feb. 20 and Cambridge 2-1 on Feb. 21 but have won everything since.

After Savannah Country Day, Islands will face Calhoun, Glynn Academy, Barrow Arts and Union Grove left on the schedule.

On the girls side of Class 3A soccer, No. 4 Harlem is being led by junior Kamryn Simmons, who has 73 points, scored 32 goals with nine assists. She scored a season-high five goals in a 12-2 victory against Westside on March 5 and scored four goals three times this season.

Harlem is 12-1, only losing its season-opener against Greenbrier 8-0. Since, the Bulldogs have beaten 12-straight teams including a 1-0 victory against Class 3A No. 7 Richmond Academy on Feb. 18 and a 4-1 victory against Richmond Academy on March 20.
