Hebron Christian’s Fred Moses has placed his name among the top defensive line prospects in the Class of 2028. The 6-foot-3, 270-pound lineman has been a force on the Lions’ line of scrimmage this season.

As a sophomore, Moses has been extremely dominant through four games. In those games, he has made 17 tackles, six sacks, 10 quarterback hurries, and eight tackles for loss. He has been a major reason the Lions are 3-1 and have held every team they have played under 29 points.

Moses is extremely talented and skilled, especially for a sophomore. While most defensive linemen his age rely on bull-rushing, he has the speed and technique to win in other ways. His hand placement when pass-rushing has improved since his freshman season, making it harder for offensive linemen to get a punch in to slow his momentum. He also has the ability to bull rush. He has put on a lot of muscle since last season, going from around 240 to 270. With that, he has the ability to play all over the defensive line. While he normally plays as a 4i or 4-technique player, meaning he lines up either head-on with the tackle or on the tackle’s inside shoulder, his size gives him the ability to move inside to play 3-technique, or possibly even 2-technique, meaning he is on the outside shoulder of the guard or head-on with him.

He should only accumulate even more stats in the second half of the season. Region 8-2A is full of some really solid teams such as East Jackson, Franklin County, and Prince Avenue, but none of them have especially stout offensive lines. Moses will force opposing offenses to prepare for him and his ability to get after the quarterback. If he can continue his dominance, Hebron will have a strong shot at winning its first-ever region title and repeating as Class A-3A private champions.
