The state of Georgia’s underclassmen are showing out in 2025. With so many elite players every year, some are bound to shine early.

Winder-Barrow sophomore 5-star safety Giovanni Tuggle is having another amazing season in 2025. As a freshman last year, Tuggle made six interceptions and 39 tackles. This season, he has already made one interception and is up to 24 tackles. He is already one of the highest-rated recruits in the country, boasting 14 offers from some of the biggest schools. While the Bulldogs haven’t had the start to the season they expected, Tuggle is once again showing why he is one of the best in the country.

Carrollton looks like it has replaced one freshman phenom quarterback with another. 2029 quarterback CJ Cypher looks to have beaten out senior transfer Mason Holtzclaw for the starting job. Through three games, Cypher has thrown for 565 yards, completing over 70 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and no interceptions. He is already a highly-recruited player. Before even taking a high school snap, he had multiple offers, including Auburn and FSU. Last week, he showed his grit, leading the Trojans to a comeback victory over Rome.

Milton star freshman offensive tackle Landon Ghea has had an unsurprisingly great start to his high school career. Playing for one of the best programs in the country, Ghea was a day-one starter and held his own in his first varsity game against Buford 4-star Texas A&M commit Bryce Perry-Wright. He has only improved as the season has progressed and does not look like a freshman. Ghea is one of the top prospects in the Class of 2029, already holding offers from Georgia and Alabama.

Collins Hill’s Jame’l Davis is having a good start to his high school career. Through three games, playing significant time for the Eagles, he has already accumulated seven tackles as a defensive back. Davis has already received his first FBS offer from Georgia State and will be a name to know moving forward as he takes on a big role in the Collins Hill defense.
