ATLANTA -- The Mechanical Trade Institute Training Center played host for some of the best football programs in the state for the third-annual Georgia High School Football Media Day Wednesday in Atlanta.

The teams in attendance varied from sitting state champions, talented flag football teams, storied programs led by legendary coaches and up-and-coming programs trying to get back on track. Each team and player which was interviewed told a different story from a different background, but their collective focus was on, as repeated all day, the upcoming season.

The schedule throughout the day included eight girls flag football teams and 30 tackle football teams. To see further coverage of the event, follow Score Atlanta on X.

Greenville, which won state titles in 1980 and 1984 opened the day before three-time champion Marist, led by legendary coach Alan Chadwick, took the stage. Blessed Trinity, the 2022 Division 3 Flag Football champions featured next, before Newton’s flag football program.

Stephenson opened the 10:45 a.m. interview block before runner-up Manchester was interviewed. Newton’s interview closed the time slot before the 11:30 a.m. space which featured Hillgrove and Woodstock flag football.

At 12:15 p.m., South Paulding took the state before Woodward Academy, which won state championships in 1970 and 1980, took the stage. Douglas County, which won a state title in 1964, closed the time slot.

Woodstock opened the 1 p.m. timeslot ahead of McIntosh, Toombs County, Langston Hughes and Collins Hill. At 1:45 p.m., Dunwoody, South Atlanta, North Paulding and Pace Academy flag football were featured.
