Gray Police are investigating a possible misappropriation of funds from the Jones County Touchdown Club. Jones County Schools Superintendent Charles Lundy met with Gray Police on Monday to discuss the clubs finances. No individuals have been named at this time.
This comes just days after head football coach Mike Chastain and athletics director Chad Alligood suddenly stepped down on Wednesday. Chastain led the Greyhounds to a 56-20 record over six seasons and became the programs all-time winningest coach this past season. The team went 10-2 last year, reaching the second round of the playoffs before losing to eventual state runner-up Marist.
This story is still ongoing, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
