The Georgia High School Football season is in full swing but that does not mean recruiting has slowed down. Several athletes around the state have recently announced their college commitments.

Drive for the GHSA State Title Recruiting Preview: This week’s Drive for the GHSA State Title matchup brings us to River Ridge as the Knights host the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets. The key recruits in this game reside in the Sprayberry defensive back room. The highest-rated recruit in the game is five-star Jorden Edmonds. Edmonds runs track and plays basketball while also playing both sides of the ball for Sprayberry. Edmonds projects as a Cornerback at the next level. He committed to Alabama on March 26. There are no indications that Edmonds does not ultimately sign with the Crimson Tide come National Signing Day. The other SEC prospect in Sprayberry’s defensive backfield is Kealan Jones. The three-star Georgia commit completes a lockdown duo for Sprayberry’s defense. Jones committed to the in-state Bulldogs and that pledge also seems very solid. On the other side of the ball, Sprayberry QB Jaden Duckett recently picked up an Eastern Kentucky offer. That was his eighth offer. Kobe Lewis also plays both ways for the Yellow Jackets, receiving six offers to be a college wide receiver.

Commitments: In the 2026 class, four-star Carrollton CB Dorian Barney flipped his commitment from Michigan to Ole Miss. Barney is a top 30 player in the state of Georgia. Three-star Banneker OT Jared Doughty committed to Alabama over in-state Georgia. Three-star Rabun Gap-Nacoochee S Zeke Marshall joined the fold for Toledo. Other commitments include Stephenson EDGE Troy Stiggers to Ohio, Marietta S Jamine Solomon to Air Force, and Gainesville EDGE Kadin Fossung to Tulsa. In the 2027 class, several high-profile guys reached a commitment. Shortly after last week’s Drive for the GHSA State Title matchup between McEachern and Harrison, three-star McEachern CB Nash Johnson III committed to Alabama. Georgia received a pair of offensive line commitments in Kyson Mallard and Kelsey Adams. Mallard is a three-star IOL at Westover High School while Adams is an OT at Langston Hughes. Adams is a top 60 player in America. He will be the third offensive lineman from Langston Hughes to attend Georgia since 2023. Four-star Thomas County Central WR Jabari Watkins committed to Nebraska. The 6’2” WR chose Nebraska over Florida State. Three-star Athens Academy WR Keyon Standifer will leave Athens but stay in Georgia as he committed to play at Georgia Tech. Another key commitment in the 2027 class came as Westlake CB Brandon Allen Jr. announced his decision to play in the SEC, committing to Mississippi State.

Decommitments: In the 2026 class, a pair of three-star lineman in Grayson DL Cameron McGee and Buford OT Ben Mubenga both decomitted from Arkansas. McGee and Mubenga are just two of eight players to decommit from Arkansas since Sam Pittman’s firing. Georgia Tech also suffered two in-state decommitments. Three-star Allatoona RB Xavier Rucker and three-star Hillgrove EDGE Chris Carbin both backed off their pledge to the Yellow Jackets.

Offers: Four-star North Forsyth EDGE Adriel Rojas picked up a big offer from LSU. LSU joins an offer sheet that includes Florida, Texas, Ole Miss, and Ohio State, all of which offered the senior in the past month. Thomas County Central Senior QB Jaylen Johnson, who has led his school to a 7-0 start, picked up an offer from Northern Illinois.
