In more breaking news in the Gainesville and Brunswick story, the GHSA has announced that both 5A semifinal games could be postponed till a later date. This is in addition to the Gainesville vs. Hughes game, which was delayed after the GHSA appealed the Hall County Superior Court's decision to overturn 34 suspensions from the Gainesville vs. Brunswick second-round playoff game. In a statement on its Twitter, the GHSA stated.

“Saturday morning, GHSA Executive Director Tim Scott notified the remaining 5A football playoff teams that the Thomas County Central–Roswell semifinal, scheduled December 5th, could potentially be postponed.

"On Monday afternoon, the GHSA will meet virtually with all parties involved—including Thomas County Central, Roswell, and the district athletic directors—to determine the next steps and finalize a plan moving forward.

"This does NOT affect any other classification in the state football playoffs.”

Hope is that the appeals decision can be made early next week, but the timeline and outcome are still unknown.
