The Georgia High School Association Board of Trustees had a meeting on July 23rd where they upheld the decision to make athletes who transfer twice after ninth grade ineligible for one year. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously 11-0 to approve the change of Article IV, Section B.4 at the start of the 2025-26 Athletic Season.

Here is what Article IV, Section B.4 states after the approval of its amending.

With the exception of appeals relating to the issue of whether or not a bona fide move has been made under By-law 1.62 or appeals related to student transfers after the first transfer, under By-law 1.63, the conditions which cause the student to fail to meet the eligibility requirements must have been beyond the control of the school, the student, and/or his parents, and such that none of them could reasonably have been expected to comply with the rule. Ignorance of the rule on the part of any or all of them shall not be considered sufficient cause for setting aside its effects.
