The Georgia High School Association will appeal the court’s decision to rule in favor of Gainesville’s injunction to the suspension of players stemming from the fight between the Red Elephants and Brunswick in the second round of the 5A playoffs.

“The Georgia High School Association is filing an appeal of the court decision today,” Executive Director Tim Scott wrote in an email to the athletic directors Adam Lindsey of Gainesville and Fulton County's Lamarr Glenn.

“As a result, Friday’s game between Gainesville High School and Hughes High School will be postponed until a decision on the appeal is reached," Scott wrote. "We will reschedule the game once the appeal decision has been rendered.”
