Maddox Waller announced via X that he has committed to Samford. Waller received offers from Gardner-Webb, North Alabama, Wofford, West Georgia, East Tennessee State, and Anderson University.
He shows a solid route-running ability and also does well with run blocking for the Chiefs. Waller brings a lot of physicality to the field as he lowers his shoulder into defenders when he runs with the ball after catching it.
He had 185 receiving yards on 10 receptions and two touchdown receptions. Waller was named an honorable mention for the Cherokee All-County Team. He was a participant in the 2024 Georgia Elite Classic as he was on the Gold team in the Junior game. Waller caught two passes for 11 yards in the All-Star Game.
He enters his senior season with high expectations after the Chiefs went 11-2 last year and went to the quarterfinal round of the Class 5A playoffs where they lost 72-48 to Coffee.
AG2G! Blessed to announce I’ve committed to @SamfordFootball. I’d like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for making this dream a reality! @HatchAttack1 @PeterRenkoski @T_Zielenske5 @SequoyahChiefs @ChiefsRecruits @coachkeels4 @TEwracademy @Velocity_FB @RustyMansell_… pic.twitter.com/JE8kvebZ3v
