In Class 7A, Newton makes its debut at No. 9 after its 27-12 victory over Westlake. The Rams improve to 5-0 and will be on a bye before their showdown with No. 8 Grayson on Sept. 29. Mill Creek moved up to No. 4 and Carrollton slid to No. 5 after Mill Creeks impressive 56-35 win over Cedar Grove. In Class 6A, Lee County moved up to No. 5 and Roswell slid to No. 6 after the Trojans 45-14 win over Lake Gibson, Fl. The Class 4A poll slightly shifted with Stockbridge moving up a spot to No. 9.

The bottom-half of the Class 3A top 10 lost two teams former No. 9 Carver-Atlanta and No. 7 Monroe Area which were replaced with No. 9 Lumpkin County and No. 10 Morgan County. In Class 2A, the top 10 did not shift.

In Class A Division I, Prince Avenue is at the top with Swainsboro, Irwin County, Rabun County and Trion filling the top 5. In Class A Division II, Lanier County is ranked for the first time in school history after beating former No. 9 McIntosh County Academy, the first ranked team Lanier has beaten in 56 tries.
