Cartersville, Berrien join baseball poll

In the state's largest classification, No. 2 Grayson fell out of the top five after defeats by Parkview and Loganville. South Gwinnett dropped out of the rankings entirely after dropping two recent games while Marietta dove into the rankings at No. 4 after five straight wins. Tift County also exited after recent losses to Lowndes and Lee County. Mill Creek jumped into the top 10 after impressive victories over Hoover (Ala.), Brookwood and Lassiter.

Class AAAAA undefeated McIntosh roared to No. 5 after an undefeated start, including blowouts of Newnan and Northgate. Dunwoody and Hiram debuted in this week's Class AAAAA rankings.

Woodland-Henry entered the Class AAAA poll after four consecutive wins, including quality victories over Spalding and Locust Grove. Lanier also debuted in AAAA after impressive wins over North Gwinnett and Archer.

Cartersville moved into the Class AAA poll despite a 3-3 record after wins over Brookwood and Carrollton. Dodge County joined the Purple Hurricanes in the poll while Blessed Trinity moved up to No. 4.

After a win over Class AAA-power St. Pius X, Westminster cracked the AA top five. Berrien broke into the top 10 after a 13-1 domination of Cook, which slid to No. 9. Bremen debuts at No. 10 after an impressive 10-1-1 start.

Undefeated First Presbyterian made the Class A-Private rankings in the wake of Our lady of Mercy, which has lost three straight. In Class A-Public, Baconton Charter replaced Trion at No. 5 after winning eight of nine games.
