The Walton Raiders swept two-time defending state champion Lowndes 7-0, 10-3 to capture the state title and climbed to No. 1 after entering the playoffs No. 6 in the poll. Etowah was ranked No. 1 for the entire season and finished the year at No. 3 after falling 4-3, 4-1 to No. 2 Lowndes in the semifinals. North Gwinnett finishes at No. 4 after its run to the semifinals where the Bulldogs fell to state champion Walton in three games. North Paulding finished the year at No. 5giving Region 5 three teams in the top 5 with No. 1 Walton, No. 3 Etowah and the Wolfpack. Buford, Parkview, Brookwood, East Coweta and Tift County round out the top 10.

Newnan and Walton were both No. 6 in the pre-playoff poll and close out the year at the top. The Cougars dominated their championship series against Houston Countywinning 3-1, 11-1 and securing their first state title since 1991. The Bears finish at No. 2 ahead of Loganville, Pope and River Ridgewhich finished at No. 5 after entering the playoffs unranked. River Ridge reached the semifinals before falling to Newnan 9-1, 2-1 and had a quarterfinal victory over Effingham Countywhich finished the year at No. 10.

Blessed Trinity overcame a 6-3 deficit heading into the bottom of the seventh inning and rallied to stun the Canes and capture the Class 4A state title with a 7-6 victory in extra innings. The Titans are at No. 1 ahead over Cartersville and the rest of the top 5 includes No. 3 Marist, No. 4 Allatoona and No. 5 St. Pius. In Class 3A, Troup earned the No. 1 spot after defeating Cherokee Bluff for its first-ever state title. Rockmart swept Franklin County for the Class 2A state title and Gordon Lee finishes the year at No. 1 in Class A Div. I after taking home the programs fifth all-time state title this year. Lanier County went wire-to-wire at No. 1 in Class A Div. II and won its second-straight state title and Calvary Day leads the Class A-3A Private poll after its sweep of Savannah Christian in the finals.
