As always, there were surprises in the state playoffs, but it seemed like there were more this year than usual. The regular season rankings were determined by region results and wins and losses in non-region competition, but nothing determines the men from the boys more so than the playoffs.

The three-game playoff series format shows teams' weaknesses in terms of pitching depth as well as proving which teams will step up in a pressure situation. Therefore, our final rankings of the season will show multiple major changes from the pre-playoffs poll we released.
