Region 6-A dominates power rankings

Darlington and Charlton County sit atop this week's GHSA Class A baseball power rankings which were released Tuesday. Darlington leads Region 6-A foe Mt. Paran by .42 points for the top spot in the Private rankings. Undefeated First Presbyterian is in third, just in front of Eagle's Landing Christian. George Walton Academy sits a healthy distance back at No. 5. Savannah Christian checks in at No. 6 while Brookstone and Holy Innocents' are tied at No. 7. Christian Heritage and Mt. Pisgah Christian round out the private top 10. Four teams from Region 6-A appear in the top 10 with Christian Heritage and Mt. Pisgah Christian joining Darlington and Mt. Paran. Region 8-A has five teams in the top 17.

In Class A Public, Charlton County received an 11.87 ranking, easily ahead of No. 2 Emanuel County Institute, which received a 10.94. Gordon Lee, another Region 6-A team, came in at No. 3 while a pair of Region 4-A teams, Schley County and Hawkinsville, rounded out the top five. Johnson County, Clinch County, Baconton, Treutlen and Irwin County occupy spots 6-10.
