Bear McWhorter announced his commitment to the University of Michigan Friday morning and the Wolverines will gain a large talent on the offensive line.

McWhorter, a top-100 player in the state of Georgia in the Class of 2026, held offers from many major college football programs but ultimately narrowed his decision down to Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina and Florida before ultimately deciding on the Wolverines to continue his football career.

The 6-foot-4, 293-pound offensive lineman was committed to Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks, but decommitted from the school in June of 2024.

McWhorter is the cousin of Cass' Class of 2026 3-star quarterback, Brodie McWhorter, who holds an offer sheet consisting of 30 major college football programs.

McWhorter is the third commitment for the Wolverines in the Class of 2026 as he joins a pair of 3-stars in wideout Jaylen Pile and defensive back Brody Jennings.

With the No.1 overall recruit in the Class of 2025 heading to Ann Arbor in the fall at quarterback, Bryce Underwood, McWhorter will be one to watch to keep the pocket clean for the Michigan offense.

McWhorter had been on two visits to Michigan before his commitment including one before the Wolverines National Championship victory and the other during the Oregon game when the Ducks traveled to Ann Arbor to face the Wolverines.

According to 11Aalive.com, Cass principal Stephen Revard said McWhorters commitment to Michigan was the first time the program had ever held a commitment ceremony in the school's history.
