The amount of talent across Class 4A in the state of Georgia is up there with some of the best football players in not only the state, but the country as well featuring highly ranked teams and players across all regions of the classifications.
With all of the talent in the classification, its hard to say that there is a better defensive duo than the pair that resides at Blessed Trinity Catholic School in the pair of brothers in DJ and Dawson Jacobs.
The frightening duo has wreaked havoc this season for opposing offenses and are rated highly across major recruiting platforms.
According to 247Sports.com DJ, the oldest of the brothers, is rated as a top-three player in the country in the Class of 2027 and the top edge rusher in the classification. The 5-star leads Blessed Trinity in total tackles and tackles for loss this season with 33 total tackles and eight tackles for loss only through four games this season.
The younger Jacobs brother, Dawson, is another major contributor to the Blessed Trinity defense as he is ranked as a 4-star defensive lineman and a top-100 player in the Class of 2028 according to 247Sports.com and has been a force on the defensive line for the Titans.
The Jacobs’ are the son of former University of Georgia defensive linemen, David Jacobs as well as Desiree Jacobs, a former basketball player.
In a sit-down interview with Score Atlanta, the Jacobs brothers detailed how important their father has been in not only their football career, but in their upbringing as well.
“With our dad, he's just been a great role model,” said DJ. “I mean honestly we wouldn’t be in this situation without him and I don’t know what I would do without my dad.”
The sons of two Georgia Bulldogs detailed how while they are Georgia legacies, their recruitment is still wide-open.
“Honestly it doesn’t affect my decision that much,” said DJ. “I know they both went to Georgia, but they also want the best fit for me, and if Georgia isn’t the best fit then you never know.”
“Georgia was their school, but I am trying to find the best school for me,” said Dawson.
Both of the brothers stated how they are not only looking for the best college program on the field to commit to, but also one that features good people to surround themselves with as well.
“Definetly a big thing for me is the people,” said DJ. “I mean you can find good football everywhere, but the people matter in the building. I am going to be there for the next three to four years and I want to wake up in the morning knowing I am in a good spot.”
“The kind of college that I want to go to is one that I can come back too when I need help from them, you know just something to come back to if I am struggling with something,” said Dawson.
The Jacobs brothers and the Blessed Trinity Titans will take the field tonight in the ‘Drive for the GHSA State Title Game of the Week,’ where the Titans will take on Hebron Chrisitan at home at 8 p.m.
