Two of the most respected programs in all of Georgia high school football will clash on Monday night in the Class 4A state championship as the Benedictine Cadets and the Creekside Seminoles will take the field with a title on the line.
It has been a remarkable season for both programs as Creekside has managed to stay undefeated at 14-0 and a 7-0 record in Region 4-4A, and is seeking the program's first undefeated season in school history as well as setting the record for the most points ever in a GHSA football season by a single team with 803 points so far.
For Benedictine, the Cadets lost their first two games of the season but have rattled off 11-straight victories in their state championship run to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In one of the best runs the school's football program has ever seen, the Creekside Seminoles look to cap it off with the school's first football state championship since 2013. This is the Seminoles first time back in a state championship matchup since 2023 when they were defeated by Coffee.
Led by senior quarterback Cayden Benson and the dominant backfield of upperclassmen running backs Gary Walker and Ced Kelley, the 2025 Creekside offense turned in the highest scoring season in GHSA history with 803 points and counting.
The Seminoles have been dominant this season on both sides of the ball where they have recorded 11 games scoring 40-points or more including games where they scored 70 against Desoto (TX) and Forest Park, 79 against Midtown and 91 against Drew, complimented by a defense that has shutout seven opponents. The Creekside defense has only let up 86 points this season, including just two games where their opponent scored in double-digits.
Following back-to-back losses to open the 2025 season to Colquitt County and Buford, the Benedictine Cadets have had a strong response, winning 11-straight games.
The Cadets are back in Mercedes-Benz Stadium playing for a state championship for the first time since 2022 where head coach Danny Britt and the Cadets won back-to-back state championships with Benedictine in 2021 and 2022, securing the program's fourth state championship.
The Cadets are led by a pair of Class of 2026 Texas Tech commitments in quarterback Stephen Cannon and one of the top players in the recruiting cycle, edge rusher LaDamion Guyton, leading a ferocious attack on both sides of the ball. Cannon and Notre Dame-commit, wideout Bubba Frazier have been excellent in the pass game, connecting for 10 touchdowns through the air this season while Guyton leads the charge on defense with 66 total tackles and 14 tackles for loss.
