Richmond Hill (Region 1), Paulding County (Region 3), Marietta (Region 5) and North Forsyth (Region 6) are the four Class 6A teams that earned playoff bids this year after missing out on the postseason a year ago. For Richmond Hill, the Wildcats missed the playoffs last year with a 7-3 overall record, but made it this year with a 6-4 finish. The Wildcats will travel to Buford to play the Wolves for the first time in school history this Friday night. Camden County’s 24-20 loss to Richmond Hill resulted in the team missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

Paulding County is the newcomer out of Region 3 and the Patriots will have a trip to North Cobb in the first round. This is the first time since 1997 that the two teams have faced and North Cobb leads the all-time series 4-5. Paulding County finished the regular season with a 4-6 record—marking a positive leap forward since last year’s 2-8 finish under then first-year head coach Justin Pressley. Paulding County achieved a three-game win-streak for the first time since 2017 this season when the team defeated Osborne (34-14), Campbell (24-15) and Pebblebrook (30-22) in region play.

Marietta is back in the playoffs after seeing its seven-year playoff streak snapped in 2024 with a 2-8 finish. This year’s Blue Devils are 5-5 and have won five of its last six games after a tough 0-4 start. Led by first-year head coach Cameron Duke, the Blue Devils will play Harrison in the first round. Marietta has won three-straight and eight of its last nine matchups with the Hoyas.

In Region 6, North Forsyth is back in the playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons after missing out on the postseason a year ago. The Raiders finished the regular season 6-4-producing their first winning season since 2022. North Forsyth defeated last year’s region champion North Atlanta 10-6 back on Oct. 10, ultimately leaving the Warriors out of the postseason with an identical 4-3 region finish. The Raiders will have a tough first round trip to Carrollton on Friday.
