In Class A-3A Private, the 23 teams in the class will be on a quest to upset reigning champion and No. 1-ranked Hebron Christian. In the final week of the regular season, No. 1 Hebron Christian (8-1, 5-0) crushed region rival No. 7 Prince Avenue Christian (7-3, 3-2), 43-6, to claim its first-ever region title.

The Lions look even more dominant than last year’s team; the eight wins are the most in a regular season since the program began playing a region schedule in 2012. The loss marks the end of the worst regular season the Wolverines have had since 2010. However, the team is still talented and should once again be a title contender.

No. 2 Fellowship Christian (8-1, 4-0) took care of business against Region 2, Subregion B champion No. 9 Whitefield Academy (8-2, 4-0) to claim the region championship. Fellowship won 44-7 in the title game. The Paladins enter the playoffs as the No. 1 overall seed, even above No. 1-ranked Hebron Christian, who defeated them 45-29 earlier this season. Fellowship has not lost since that game and has beaten every opponent since by no fewer than 24 points.

In the first round, Lovett (6-4, 3-3) will face off with Trinity Christian (4-6, 3-5). Lovett has one of the best defenses in the class, allowing only 11.9 points per game. Trinity Christian enters on a two-game winning streak, defeating Upson-Lee 34-7 and Fayette County 41-7. The outcome will likely come down to how well the Lovett offense performs, the unit has struggled this season, averaging just 14.8 points per game.
